Muhammad Sadegh Kashefi *
Abstract:   (15803 Views)

Frank Sibley is one of the most influential aesthetician and philosophers of art in twentieth century’s tradition of analytic philosophy. He’s the one who propagate the issue of aesthetic concepts through his brilliant essays and establishes these concepts as the core themes of aesthetics. This article would introduce and analyze Frank Sibley’s aesthetic concepts. To do this I first argue for his concepts by giving examples and explaining Sibley’s tacit claims. Finally, when these concepts are fully clarified and the borders of their usage are determined, the method for applying them will be explored.

Keywords: Frank Sibley, aesthetic concepts, non-aesthetic concepts, taste, aesthetic perception
